The affects of stutteringI am quite a positive person, I am a very determined person and I am the type of person who is willing to work very hard to reach my goals.
Stuttering had a huge impact on my life, however I was never going to accept that I would have the stutter for the whole of my life and certainly would not let it beat me.
I saw the stutter as a form of voice inside of my brain. This voice would talk to me on a regular basis and would try to convince me that I would stutter on certain words.
I was convinced that if only I could somehow remove this voice from my head, that the stutter would then be eradicated. This voice or demons, as I sometimes saw them, caused me many a heartache and we had many battles.
The demons won a great deal of these battles, they convinced me to leave school at sixteen, they convinced me that marriage was not right for me, they stopped me from going to many social occasions and of course they were the cause of many stuttering situations.
Ultimately I was the victor, all of these voices/demons have now been killed and I am finally free to enjoy my life.
